Foster Care Awareness Month
May is National Foster Care Awareness Month.
Youth from the foster care system are more likely than their peers to drop out of high school, experience homelessness, be unemployed, and develop mental health problems and substance addiction. Orangewood Foundation works every day to prepare foster and community youth to reach their greatest potential. We work side-by-side with youth to support them on their path to self-sufficiency. Below are three ways you can help youth this Foster Care Awareness Month:
- SUPPORT us by starting a personal fundraising page to help us renovate Orangewood Resource Center (ORC) kitchen.
- BECOME a foster parent and build a relationship with a youth with our Youth Connected Program.
- LIKE or FOLLOW us on social media! We’re on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn!
Wear BLUE and tag us @orangewoodfoundation and #FCAMxOrangewood to show your support during National Foster Care Awareness Month!
